Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we come before You as humble believers, seeking Your grace and protection against the spirit of slander, malicious talk, and evil-speaking that seeks to destroy Your people.
Lord, Your Word cautions us that the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity that defiles the whole body and sets the course of nature ablaze (James 3:5-6).
We repent of every careless, harmful word spoken that has tarnished our bodies and relationships.
Father, cleanse us from the leaven of slander, gossip, and tale-bearing.
Quench the fires of bitterness, anger, and pride that ignite through our words.
By Your Spirit, break the power of this spirit of destruction that amplifies strife, sows discord, and causes loss of fellowship with both You and with one another.
We ask that You heal the wounds inflicted by false accusations and broken trust.
Restore broken relationships, uproot all division caused by whispers and backbiting, and seal our lips from amplifying evil.
Lord, we refuse the consequences of this evil: the tarnishing of our bodies, anger that consumes peace, loss of fellowship, early death, sickness, and the amplification of evil.
Protect our hearts and tongues so that we may walk uprightly before You — speaking truth in love, building others up, and honoring Your holy name.
Jesus, You were slandered and falsely accused, yet You responded with grace and truth. Teach us to follow Your example. Deliver us from the compulsion to destroy with words and help us to become ambassadors of mercy, reconciliation, and righteousness.
Holy Spirit, guard our minds and hearts. Inscribe on our spirits the wisdom to restrain our tongues, the humility to recognize the destruction of slander, and the courage to speak up for those unjustly maligned.
We declare freedom from the evil clutches of tale-bearing and gossip in our lives, homes, churches, and communities.
Let healing, peace, and divine protection spring forth wherever words have wounded.
Empower us to walk in holiness and godly speech, that our mouths may only convey life and blessing.
Thank You, Lord, for Your promise to deliver the righteous and silence the slanderer.
We trust in Your justice and mercy. Keep us humble, watchful, prayerful, and full of love.
