Precious Lighthouse Academy – Learner Discipline and Code of Conduct

At Precious Lighthouse Academy, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment. To maintain this standard, we have a structured disciplinary process for learners who do not comply with school rules or exhibit inappropriate behavior.

1. Verbal Warnings

Discipline begins with verbal warnings to give the learner an opportunity to correct their behavior:

First Verbal Warning: Issued by the classroom teacher during the lesson or school activity.

Second Verbal Warning: Issued by the disciplinary officer and campus manager, in a one-on-one session with the learner.

Third Verbal Warning: Issued by the school pastor, who will also provide spiritual guidance and counselling to help the child understand the importance of obedience and respect.

The purpose of the verbal warnings is to correct behavior early and guide the learner in a supportive and constructive manner.

2. Written Warning – Red Letter to Parents

If a learner continues to display inappropriate behavior after the three verbal warnings, a Red Letter will be issued.

Parents/guardians will be invited to the school to discuss the child’s behavior with school management.

Together, we will agree on strategies to address the behavior and support the child in making positive changes.

3. Further Disciplinary Action

If there is no improvement in behavior following the Red Letter discussion, the matter will escalate to suspension or further disciplinary action as deemed necessary by school management.

Serious or repeated offenses may result in immediate disciplinary action, including suspension or, in extreme cases, expulsion.

4. Principles

Every learner is treated fairly, with respect and care.

The goal of discipline is to teach responsibility, respect, and self-control, not merely to punish.
