At Precious Lighthouse Academy, we are deeply committed to shaping not only the minds of our learners but also their character, values, and spiritual foundation.
This week, our assembly theme is “Influence :
The Path That Determines Your Destiny.”
We believe that even from a young age, children can learn to recognise the voices, friendships, and environments that guide them—either toward God’s purpose or away from it.
Last week, we explored “Finding Meaning and Purpose.”
Understanding purpose is the foundation of intentional living.
This week, we build on that truth by teaching our learners how the influences around them can strengthen their destiny or harm it.
As Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens another.”
We desire for every child in our Academy to be sharpened by good company, strengthened by Godly guidance, and surrounded by influences that bring out the best in them.
Why Influence Matters:
Influence is powerful. It is the silent force that shapes choices, behaviour, friendships, and future direction.
We teach our learners that:
• Good influences lead to wisdom, growth, strength, kindness, and character.
• Negative influences can weaken purpose, confuse identity, and draw them away from God’s best for their lives.
As Scripture warns in 1 Corinthians 15:33:
“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’”
This week, we are empowering our learners to:
• Recognise both positive and negative influences
• Choose friendships wisely
• Stand strong in who God created them to be
• Become influencers of light wherever they go
We believe that when children understand their purpose, they also learn to protect it.
The Benefits of a Child Who Is Not Easily Influenced :
A child who learns to stand firm in Godly influence becomes:
• Confident in who they are
• Resilient in challenging environments
• Courageous in decision-making
• Respectful and responsible
• A leader who can influence others toward goodness
• A light in their school, home, and community
• Protected from peer pressure and negative paths
These qualities do not grow overnight, but they grow with consistent teaching, prayer, and partnership between school and home.
